Kaleidystopia: a kaleidoscopic effect created with two mirrors and five dystopian novels (Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, Animal Farm, 1984, A Clockwork Orange). If you aren’t living in an endless tumult of passages from past warnings, then you might just be one of the ones they convinced.

Everywhere the world movement seems to be in the direction of centralised economies which can be made to ‘work’ in an economic sense but which are not democratically organised and which tend to establish a caste system. With this go the horrors of emotional nationalism and a tendency to disbelieve in the existence of objective truth because all the facts have to fit in with the words and prophecies of some infallible fuhrer.

"Defund the Police"

After a Minneapolis police officer murdered George Floyd, an unarmed black citizen, week long protests broke out domestically and abroad. Here is some aftermath from the day after the major protests started hitting Asheville.

Much of downtown was either being boarded up, or already had reinforcements to prevent damage and looting. The whole town square had a heavy odor of spray paint. “Fuck 12” and other obscenities peppered the buildings around the Vance Monument, which many want removed due to its “racist history.” Some businesses had people out trying to scrub the statements off the walls.
